Outreach
As part of our community outreach, we provide
a free summer public performance as part of the Armory Square
Association's Candlelight Series. Our fourth consecutive performance
in the Candlelight Series was held on August 7, 2004. We believe
it is a sound community investment to provide this free performance
because it offers many audience members a rare opportunity to
experience the beauty, grace, and artistry of a live dance performance.
Through our outreach to children we are developing
future audiences who appreciate and will support the arts. “Goldilocks
meets Little Red” is an educational program that we developed
and performed at local schools. This program was created along
curriculum guides lines for elementary schools and is designed
to nurture the ballet audience of the future. We have performed
at Danforth Magnet School, Frazer Elementary School, and Manlius
Pebble Hill. For high school students, we have developed a Greek
Mythology show. We invite area children to dress rehearsals
where they can meet the artists and observe up-close a real-life
artistic production.
